"It didn't happen," Ethan says part in reminder as his voice raises just a fraction to meet hers as he approaches her from behind, watching her face. His chest is on fire with it, but he still reaches out for her arm so that she'll look at him. "I am sorry that I almost threw him overboard. I am not sorry for attacking him, but I am sorry for that."

He does have a cracked rib, but other than that and the bandages covering the cuts on his chest and he is face, he is in one piece. And he doesn't die permanently not that-- Ethan knows that is not exactly a comfort ultimately which is why he's not bringing it up.

They've never fought about Damon. They have fought before, not often but it happens and it is healthy and they are how ever they are with each other when they do. It is okay and safe to feel whatever they feel at each other even the things that are unfair.
