Once he's gone she settles into bed. At first she's not sure changing position--going from upright to lying down--is an improvement. Now that she's still she can feel the rocking of the ship more acutely. Or maybe she can't, it's just that with nothing else to focus on, it feels like she can.

But that feeling settles. Eventually she drifts off, falling into an exhausted sleep.
