So many things happened that kept them apart too on top of that, and he could never imagine a world where she would walk up and kiss him like it's normal, like she wants to, like she wants him like that. "How amazing it is to see you," Ethan says softly, and then through all the emotion and the confusion and the everything, he looks up at her, something like ache and a hope and just a wonderment in his gaze. "Do we... kiss often in your world?"
But God, it is... amazing to see her again, and he reaches his hand out once more to rest it against her shoulder as if assuring himself she is real.
