Mary Jane may not be able to see the expression on his face, but one can be rest assured she is picturing it perfectly, by virtue of knowing Peter Parker as well as she does. And trust that it is extremely well. "Peter Parker," she whines, and it's her turn to be comical as she ferociously wriggles in place in a hopeless and futile attempt to force the webs to come loose. Of course they do not, which only makes her attempts that much more comical.
