[party post] come sail away with me

You've come through a door, and you are on a boat. Specifically, you're on a cruise ship in the middle of some giant body of water. You've come through the door behind you which is attached to nothing and may now be locked. It's relatively empty as giant as it appears to be. The only other passengers that are here appear to also have come through the door for the most part and it is not nearly enough to fill up this entire cruise ship.

Also, who knows who the hell is driving this thing since all of the employees appear to be either ghosts or holograms...

Is this your first time here or your hundredth time here? Do you want a drink or a dip in the pool? Is it day or night? Do you stumble on your room or some other situation either fun or painful within its many rooms, shops, and facilities? Do you run into someone you know or a complete stranger?

The possibilities are unlimited!

"Someone want to tell me where the hell I am?" Jenny has a gun, and she is not really afraid to use it, grasping the handle of it between her palm. She doesn't think she can be blamed for having this gun. When she was a kid, a demon stole her and her sister for a little while, made them forget who the hell they were, and then dropped them back on the street like it was nothing. Then she had another demon in her head, making her forget things, making her think and feel things that she didn't want to feel.

Now suddenly, she's in a damn cruise ship against her will. This is not what she'd expect out of a demon, but she's not at the place where she feels comfy letting her guard down.

"If I knew, I would tell you."

Danny's voice comes quietly from off the side. His arms are folded, and he is unarmed. What weapons he carried with him did not make it through as soon as he stepped in. He feels odd without one, as though he has misplaced a limb. His gun has been an extension of him for a very long time. Demons are the sort of thing he hunts, but his demons and Jenny's might be different.

His posture isn't threatening, though he's a big dude.

[personal profile] breakingout 2014-02-08 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
Jenny turns immediately at the sound of his voice, and the gun is still in her hand, aimed his way as she surveys him. It's possible he is a demon in hiding, lying to her to get her to let her guard down, but it is also possible that she is not the only one dragged into this ship. She holsters the gun. It's not like bullets have an effect on demons anyway.

"So you were taken too?"

If he doesn't know where they are (assuming he's telling the truth and he doesn't look like he has anything to hide), it's the only conclusion she can come to.

"About a couple of hours ago," comes Danny's answer after a pause.

Words don't come easily to him, and they haven't for a while. He hasn't been in a situation where he's necessarily had to interact with people other than James, much less interact with people that are new to him. "Tried... just about anything to get the door to open, but -- "

Won't budge.

[personal profile] breakingout 2014-02-13 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
Honestly, Jenny's so used to guys who can't shut up that one who takes his time, doesn't try to fill it all up unnecessarily is kind of refreshing. If she knew the reasons why, she'd feel a certain ache of understanding at it. Supernatural comes in and fucks up everybody's lives if given the chance, in one way or another. It didn't take her words, but it took her relationship with her sister and it took her body and her mind for awhile too.

"But no good?" She fills in for him. "So maybe there's another way out, you wanna look with me? Much as I'd like to take a cruise, I'd prefer it to be my choice."

The smirk on Danny's face is all too brief and subtle, but not impossible to catch. "No good," he confirms. His strength and his talents, if they can even be called that, are no match for the door, or the cruise ship, it seems. The problem with the Mark is that it erroneously feeds you with the mistaken belief you are infallible. Never a god, but infallible, made of steel. It breaks away the pieces of you that once had learned to fear. The thought of him not being able to return back home, however, has him remembering vaguely what it felt like.

"I've found ... two heads are usually better than one," Danny says in agreement, taking her cue. Whenever she begins to walk off in a certain direction, he will be following her. "Do you think we're the only ones?"

To be taken.

[personal profile] breakingout 2014-02-20 09:47 am (UTC)(link)
Jenny catches that brief and subtle smirk, and it makes her smirk back before she shrugs and nods at his confirmation. It is to be expected. Whatever it is about this place, it goes beyond any supernatural that she has ever heard of before, and the power that it has-- Well, she tries not to linger on the reality of that. There are still things that scare her.

"Unless one or both of those heads is a complete idiot, but you don't strike me as one, which is why I made the suggestion to start with." She smirks sideways at him. Jenny starts away from the door, glancing sideways at him as they walk down the length of the ship. She shakes her head with a tiny smirk. "If we were, I think we'd need to start comparing notes on our lives to see what it was about us that made us so appealing to SS Magic Kidnappings here. It's a good question though. We should keep an eye out for any signs of other people being aboard."

And then use caution because there's no telling if they're friendly.

[personal profile] fissures 2014-02-27 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Danny bows his head with a rusty, soft laugh.

Somehow, he thinks comparing notes could get pretty bleak pretty fast. He slides his fingers into his hair at the back of his nape, scratching his head there slightly in confusion, before he turns to her again. "SS Magic Kidnappings is fitting," he surveys with amusement. It is subdued in nature, but it is who Danny is as opposed to anything else. "The people I did come into contact to weren't really ... people," he answers carefully, in case she isn't used to the supernatural. He doesn't instantly assume that she would.

At first they seemed like holograms, but at least they were friendly! A little.

[personal profile] breakingout 2014-02-27 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Jenny smiles a bit at the sound of his laugh. She tends to connect more to people who don't do things like most other people whether that's quieter or louder. The whole 'normal' or typical thing is what she has a more difficult time interacting with. "Right? They should paint it on the side," she says. Then there's a slight frown wondering if it's not painted there already. "...so if they were people who weren't really people, what are we talking about here? Demons, ghosts, something else?"

She is very used to the supernatural though the demons from her world are the literal biblical kind.
fissures: (Default)

[personal profile] fissures 2014-02-28 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Danny hasn't connected to anyone in years, but if he were to, he would connect to the exact same people. He doesn't know how to lead a life that most people would define as normal anymore. He doesn't remember what that is like. The past is in the past, and Danny can never go back to it. There is also relief to know that she is familiar with demons and ghosts. ... Okay, so it's not relieving in the sense that he'd want her to have to face any of those things, but it means that she is already one step ahead of most. "I'm thinking ghosts, and not the threatening kind. I've had to do deal with plenty of them that are hostile and the hauntings they leave behind, but I'm not getting the same feeling from them here."

There's nothing foreboding, exactly, other than the fact they were brought here against their own will. Which should be enough, but he still would like to know why.

[personal profile] breakingout 2014-03-03 10:25 am (UTC)(link)
Jenny doesn't know how to do that either. She usually makes inappropriate comments or sarcastic comments when in the presence of people who live normal lives, and it is just-- She's not any good at it anymore, and she doesn't want to be if it means that she has to ignore all the shit that happens. Jenny tilts her head to the side slightly as she looks at Danny. "Yeah, I've experienced a few threatening ghosts before myself so... we're talking Casper the friendly ghost types? Do they talk at all or mostly just move around?"

She is betting if they do talk then they likely don't make any sense or answer direct questions. This ship doesn't give the impression that it'll hand over its answers easily.
fissures: (Default)

[personal profile] fissures 2014-03-05 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Danny smirks at that, in part due to her reference and in part due to his own answer. "I never... tried engaging in conversation with them," he answers Jenny. If he has a hard time talking to people in general, trying to talk to moving ghosts is something that would likely stretch the limits of feasibility. He just saw them very briefly, and in passing, but he's thinking along the same lines as Jenny. There won't be any simple or easy answers, and it's not just the ship.

It's life and it's how it works and you always have to fight to get what you want.

[personal profile] breakingout 2014-03-11 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Can't say that I blame you. Every ghost I've ever tried talking to has always been a giant pain in the ass," Jenny says, and her smirk widens a bit as she shrugs. There's one of them now, walking around, visible but clearly see through. She lifts an eyebrow at them. They're dressed like they work on a cruise ship, but don't seem to realize or care that they are... well, dead. She lifts an eyebrow at them. "I wonder if they even know they're stuck on a ghost ship going nowhere."

The comment is made thoughtfully more than anything else since she knows answers aren't going to be given easily. If there are any answers.

"So you've got experience with them prior to ending up on this ship?" Danny asks. It's what his gut was telling him. The narration isn't sure how he can be a good judge of character and so socially inept all at once, but he manages it somehow. He cants his head to the side, watching them as they walk -- or rather glide -- past them. Danny is certain if he was to walk right into one he'd just phase through. "Sometimes they are," he murmurs thoughtfully. Sometimes they don't know they're dead, and finding out they are can be a very unpleasant experience.

"Needless to say, it's best that we don't break it to them." A beat. "Just in case."

[personal profile] breakingout 2014-04-01 06:56 am (UTC)(link)
"Some. Little experience with all things supernatural and a lot of experience with a few of them," Jenny says, and the few of them is mostly demons, but she smirks softly shaking her head. This is no demon trap or it would be a lot more person specific. There'd be temptations. There'd be that voice in her head. She nods in response, watching his face.

"We won't. I'm not all that great at breaking bad news as is." She tends toward bluntness, which could have bad consequences. "So you have experience of your own?"

Bela Talbot also deals with demons on a regular basis and also has her life royally screwed over by the supernatural so clearly she and Jenny should be gun toting BFFs if either of them were actually inclined to such things. But for the most part, the narration would settle for them not shooting each other.

See, Bela also has a gun, and is currently trying to figure out her stupid last minute panicked decision to try and run from hellhounds landed her on a cruise ship of all places, but she's mostly just reacting on instinct at this point. She sees Jenny's gun, and hers automatically comes up, silencer still in place.

"I think that's what everyone wants to know." The gun is mostly a precaution. If Jenny's going to move to shoot her she's going to shoot first. But she doesn't actually mean to do her any harm.

She has just had a really, really long day of hallucinations and death threats from Winchesters. Please don't take this the wrong way.

[personal profile] breakingout 2014-02-27 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Jenny keeps her gun up when she sees the woman with a gun of her own. She lifts an eyebrow carefully as she looks her up and down carefully before she meets her gaze without flinching. Not that Jenny recognizes her, but she didn't expect to. She is on a mysterious ship in the middle of nowhere against her will after all so it's not like she thought she'd have a bunch of old friends here.

"So you were kidnapped too?" She still has her gun up as a precaution of her own. She doesn't know if she should believe it, but she is also not looking to get a bullet lodged in her today. Also, she figures whoever did the kidnapping would have a more creative way to kill her than shooting her on the deck of the ship she was just kidnapped on to so chances are this woman is in the same boat. Literally. "You want to lower our guns together so neither of us has to get shot today?"

She'd really prefer not getting shot, and she is hoping that Bela feels the same.

Bela does quite feel the same. And as skeptical as she is that this woman is really looking out for her well-being, she doesn't feel like standing in a Mexican stand-off for however long it takes either. Her nerves are on edge and she doesn't know what is going on, but eventually her hand trembles, and she drops her gun to her side.

Then she exhales slowly.

"I'm not sure kidnapping is the word for it."

[personal profile] breakingout 2014-03-03 10:36 am (UTC)(link)
Jenny mostly prefers not shooting people if she doesn't have to, and there is no telling whose trigger finger is happier so no telling who would get shot first in this whole scenario. If there was some freaky creature to shoot, she'd be all for it, but...

Not the case here. She lowers her gun, and then smirks at that, shrugging a bit.

"What would you go with? Forced teleportation? Magical... upheaval?"

[personal profile] enjoythe_ride 2014-03-16 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
She shrugs aimlessly. She isn't sure what this is, but when it comes to connotation, this doesn't feel like a kidnapping. "Kidnappers usually want something. If this is a kidnapping, what does it want? To trap us on an endless cruise ship because they think it's fun?

She doubts it. There's something else at play.

[personal profile] breakingout 2014-03-26 07:34 am (UTC)(link)
"True. If there was someone behind all this who wanted something from us, there are easier ways to do it," Jenny says. Unless the whoever is behind it all has untold power, but she still can't figure the point or what could be wanted from them. Her jaw locks a bit. "And it's not like I have all that much to take."

But she suppresses a shudder at the thought a demon could want to possess her again. It doesn't explain why a cruise ship, why she's not alone here.

"If anything, this place might have actually done me a favor," Bela murmurs in an off-handed way. "It got me out of a fairly sticky situation."

Which is an understatement, because she was about to die and have her soul dragged to hell. Whoops. But at least the ship is a nice back up plan. And seems to have done the job well for the most part.

"I'm not usually that lucky."
