[party post] come sail away with me

You've come through a door, and you are on a boat. Specifically, you're on a cruise ship in the middle of some giant body of water. You've come through the door behind you which is attached to nothing and may now be locked. It's relatively empty as giant as it appears to be. The only other passengers that are here appear to also have come through the door for the most part and it is not nearly enough to fill up this entire cruise ship.
Also, who knows who the hell is driving this thing since all of the employees appear to be either ghosts or holograms...
Is this your first time here or your hundredth time here? Do you want a drink or a dip in the pool? Is it day or night? Do you stumble on your room or some other situation either fun or painful within its many rooms, shops, and facilities? Do you run into someone you know or a complete stranger?
The possibilities are unlimited!

He glances down before he looks back up at her with a tiny smile.
"I have... been on this ship before honestly, but I didn't think I'd come back to it, and I didn't stay very long the first time that I was here," he says. "The first time I mostly stared at the door until it let me go back to where I came from."
no subject
"You came here before? And it let you go back?" This makes no sense. Well. Not that any of this makes sense but this isn't helping.
"What did you have to do to get back?"
no subject
"Nothing. It was locked for a long time, and then... one time I tried it and it wasn't," he says, because it doesn't make any sense at all. He doesn't understand why this ship takes people out for a brief period of time and then throws them back into their lives. It's like it wants to give them a vacation, but he isn't really in the habit of trusting something that doesn't give people choice. "I wish there was something you could do. It'd make it much easier. The good news is time didn't... seem to change back home for me. I was here for days, but I came back to the same moment I left."
no subject
"None of this makes any sense," she says, frowning. "I don't see the point. If you have all this power, why do something like this?" She knows the world frequently isn't a logical or sensible place, but this is really beyond the pale.
"Though I guess it's a comfort knowing you can go back. And that you aren't missed. I mean, can you imagine? If you just vanished and people were worried about you?"
no subject
He smiles softly in agreement. It is very comforting. "People used to fall into my world all the time. Fall is sadly incredibly accurate terminology. Rifts would open up in midair and just... drop them off from their own worlds and times. No return trips. I imagine for them, they did just vanish in thin air and no one would know. I could never imagine what that would be like. I'm grateful my parents won't have to worry."

Superpowers fueled by genetic mutation is about as weird as it gets in her world. But that's not something she talks about much.
no subject
It would only make her feel worse, and he's not sure if there is any medical help here if she did get too dehydrated. He'd like to do what he can to help.
no subject
She smiles, grateful for the offer. "And some water would be great. Thank you."
no subject
He smirks lightly with a bit of a shrug. Ethan didn't really drink much last time because he was too busy freaking out, but he might change his mind this go around.

She takes a few small sips from the bottle. "...Which begs the question. What do you do when you're here? Where do you stay?"
no subject
He looks back at her, shaking his head a bit as he smiles and sinks into the chair next to hers. "Everyone has a room. It's weird, but for some reason, you'll find you have a room on the ship with a bed and everything. As for what to do? There's honestly not a limit. You'll find rooms filled with... any manner of thing. There are pools, night clubs, dance clubs. I haven't seen it all yet."
no subject
"It sounds like a really great, fun-packed vacation. Except for the part where we didn't ask to come and we can't go back when we want to."
no subject
"That's about it in a nutshell. Also, the rooms and stores can change from what I've seen so that's an adventure in itself," he says, shaking his head, because he doesn't-- that might be one of the more unsettling things about this place. It's always changing but never changes at the same time.
no subject
"And what do you do? Like while you're stuck here? Do you have a room?"
