[party post] come sail away with me

You've come through a door, and you are on a boat. Specifically, you're on a cruise ship in the middle of some giant body of water. You've come through the door behind you which is attached to nothing and may now be locked. It's relatively empty as giant as it appears to be. The only other passengers that are here appear to also have come through the door for the most part and it is not nearly enough to fill up this entire cruise ship.

Also, who knows who the hell is driving this thing since all of the employees appear to be either ghosts or holograms...

Is this your first time here or your hundredth time here? Do you want a drink or a dip in the pool? Is it day or night? Do you stumble on your room or some other situation either fun or painful within its many rooms, shops, and facilities? Do you run into someone you know or a complete stranger?

The possibilities are unlimited!

"Logan," he answers, looking back her way as he moves the tables as she directs him to. Seems like as good a time as any to get some information at least. Physical labor in exchange for questions. Not that he thinks anyone knows a thing about this place. "So how long have you been here if you're organizing shindigs like this one?"

"A few months?" she says with a bit of a shrug. It's not like they keep calendars, but given the fact that she has been there longer than most, she's tried to keep track of the days if she can. "Give or take. It can be a little hard to tell."

Logan stares at her at what she says, and he shakes his head, tensing mid-table placement, because that can't actually be-- She has no reason to lie to him after all, but it is hard to process it. "Months?" He sets the table down. "I don't want to be here for months."

In the middle of the sea, it's unsettling to him, makes him on edge at the thought.

"I don't think anyone wants to be here for months." Except for maybe her. She's here because she has to be, because if she goes back home, she's going back to nothingness. She doesn't want her door to open. All the same ...

"My stay isn't typical. Some leave within a few days, some within a few weeks - it depends on when your door opens."

Logan hoists the table down to the floor again with ease. He hasn't even worked up a sweat, and he turns to her when she speaks. There's confusion in his gaze. He folds his arms across his chest, not so much in suspicions as in curiosity. He doubts someone setting up parties is really behind the whole kidnapping thing here.

"What makes your stay different from others?"

She glances back at him awkwardly for a moment, one hand coming up to play with the ends of her hair as she tries to figure out the most delicate way to put it. There isn't really an easy way to explain that you're dead without it being as tragic as it was, but what can you do?

"Because before I got here I was drowning." In a fountain in a park, held down by a megalomaniac who wanted her son to pay for Klaus's wanting what he had no right to take. "I don't think that there would be a point to me going back."

Of all the answers that he could have expected, this wasn't one of them, and he pauses as he works just briefly. He shakes his head in answer, uncertain of what to think... about the wrongness of it. This place can take people from death. Is this some kind of a hell or a freedom from what lies after otherwise? He doesn't know.

"Sorry," Logan says a bit gruffly in a low voice but the response is genuine. He is sorry. She seems like a really wonderful woman and far too young to die (they always are). If he knew someone murdered her, well. He'd want to slice him to bits and pieces.

She shrugs. She doesn't regret her death. Not that she necessarily wanted to die, but it kept her son alive, which is the important thing. Tyler would always be the important thing, even if there were times she did a terrible job of showing it.

"It happens. I've been here a few months now. I've been working at ... moving forward."

Logan tilts his head to the side as he looks at her. The shrug isn't really what he expected, but he's not really in any place to judge someone else's reactions to dying. It's not something he's ever done, but there's no telling how many times he'd be happy to die if it meant someone else lived for once.

"Can't be easy on a cruise ship going nowhere, but I guess that's what the parties are for," he says, and he tries not to shudder at the thought of being here for months. Granted, he'll get to come and go plenty. Not that he knows that yet, but.

The shrug is the only way she knows how to deal with it. It's a fact of life in Mystic Falls. People die. If she thinks too hard about the fact that she's never going to see her son again, her reaction may not be as favorable, and she can't afford to fall apart here.

She nods a bit, amused. "It's an easy way to pass the time, that's for sure."
