[party post] come sail away with me

You've come through a door, and you are on a boat. Specifically, you're on a cruise ship in the middle of some giant body of water. You've come through the door behind you which is attached to nothing and may now be locked. It's relatively empty as giant as it appears to be. The only other passengers that are here appear to also have come through the door for the most part and it is not nearly enough to fill up this entire cruise ship.

Also, who knows who the hell is driving this thing since all of the employees appear to be either ghosts or holograms...

Is this your first time here or your hundredth time here? Do you want a drink or a dip in the pool? Is it day or night? Do you stumble on your room or some other situation either fun or painful within its many rooms, shops, and facilities? Do you run into someone you know or a complete stranger?

The possibilities are unlimited!

This is not the first time Peter Parker has been on this side of a door in the weird, creepy, somehow functioning cruise ship in the giant body of water going to nowhere.

It is the first time that he has been here in full Spider-man outfit, swinging through the open door and crashing suddenly into a table that had been on the other side of the deck. He oofs as he lands in a heap along with the now broken table then gets to his feet, rushing back to the door.

"No, no, no, no, no! This is not happening!" He yanks at the door but it won't open. He yanks more, lifting himself up so his feet are on the frame of the door while the rest of him is trying to yank at the handle which does. not. budge. "C'mon, Spidey doesn't need a vacay in the middle of a big chase scene."

He lets out a noise of frustration, moving further back and shooting some of his webs at the door to try to yank on it that way. Do you stumble upon him as he tries relentlessly to open an obviously magically sealed shut door? Are you walking through the door when suddenly webs wrap around you? Have you been wondering where the hell you are and now there's a weird looking bug dude in spandex? Come one, come all!

Damon just kissed Elena Gilbert, and she kissed him back (and then went inside and cut off Uncle John's fingers, but he doesn't know about that part). He may have failed at his attempt to do good by the little Gilbert, but all in all after the hell that has been the past half year waiting to spring Katherine lose when it turns out she didn't give a solitary fuck about him and had been free all this time? He could be doing a lot worse really.

Of course, as he walks away from the Gilbert house with Elena's (Katherine's lips) still over his, he is... suddenly on a boat. "Okay. This is... not normal."

Damon narrows his gaze as he stares at the nearly empty deck, makes note of the bar there by the pool. What are the chances the entire last how ever long have been a dream that he is still unfortunately stuck in?

"...I need a drink."

A blond in stiletto heels strides her way onto the deck, walking like she owns the place, regardless of the fact that she is confused as hell. Caroline Forbes left hesitation at the door decades ago, and while she has no idea what's coming around that corner, she is pretty sure she can take them. She been wandering the world for over a century and a half and while that may be "baby" in terms of some vampires, most trouble she runs into isn't of the vampire variety.

She's mostly annoyed. It's her hundred and sixty-eighth birthday. She was going to meet up with Elena in New York City (it had just "reinvented itself") and go clubbing, but apparently, she is taking a sea cruise instead. It doesn't change the fact that she is dressed to kill, however, blond hair hanging straight against her shoulders, a white sparkly tank top under a leather jacket, skin tight leather pants, and a pair of killer heels.

She could have probably gotten laid tonight. Now she's lucky if she runs into Gilligan.

She huffs for a moment, scanning the deck in the search of something interesting to do, until she catches the sound of footsteps nearby. She tosses her hair, getting ready to put on her best "helpless blond" look. Maybe someone around can point her to the nearest way back to New York City.

She promises to ask nicely.

"Hello?" She frowns. "Is anyone there?"

Alternate universes are kind of old hat where Christine Chapel comes from. Why, back home she's got two versions of the same good friend, one her contemporary and born of the same alternate timeline set in motion when his older, future self went and busted up their pasts.

(Apparently, where he's from? She was a blonde. She can't quite get her head around it.)

She knows all about how universes can co-exist, thanks to discovering she and everyone she knew were in one, or had been in one in the future, however you looked at it. Maybe that's why she takes appearing here in stride. One minute, she's leaving Dr. McCoy's office; the next, she's in a carpeted corridor of numbered rooms that looks like a hotel.

...But what's that odd sensation of motion?

It's a ship. Not like the Enterprise--an honest to goodness, real ship that really sails on the real ocean. They'd already been a relic of the past, limping their way into obscurity when she was a kid in Saigon and New Orleans; by the time she got to San Francisco and the Academy they were a novelty.

She can't get back through the door, she's tried. Eventually she finds the deck and a deck chair to perch on, smoothing down the rather short skirt of her uniform dress before sitting. There's not much she can do until some real help arrives, or some more information presents itself.

Why not just watch the ocean go by? It's not a chance she'd have otherwise.

It's just another normal day at Princeton-Plainsboro, well as normal as one could get working under House. One thing Martha's learned for sure under her curmudgeon of a boss is that nothing is ever normal. She doesn't mind it so much; the variety and complexities of her job are almost refreshing. Almost. Martha's on her way to the office when things don't go according to plan. As she pushes the door open to step inside the office, her scenery changes, and she steps not into the too-warm room, but out onto a breezy deck of a ship.

The door soon snaps shut behind her, and she's stood alone on the deck, staring with huge eyes. "Oh.."

A few moments pass like this until she finally sees the sense to turn right back around and try the door she's just passed through.

The handle won't turn.

She tries again, quickly starting to get flustered, but the door won't give. Instead, she opts for hastily rapping at the wood as she simletaneously attempts the handle. But it doesn't work for her. She's not sure what to think, but she knows she doesn't want to play this game - whatever game that is, anyway.

"Hello? Anyone? Can-- can someone-- uhh, open the door!" she calls, "... please?"

The fact that she's trapped in the inbetween hasn't quite sunk in yet for a certain young Angel of Death. She's only sixteen, she's still learning about the bigger picture in the world. Or, worlds, rather.

All Helen knows is she's on a boat. A huge boat.

And it's so cool!

She still hasn't left the deck, and she's been here a good two hours. She's spent her time rushing madly about the entire length of the ship, nothing but a blur of tawny brown feathers and bright red curls. She's probably not looking where she's going, but there doesn't seem to be anyone else on the ship - no one out here anyway.

Alternately, she can be found up on the railings, leaning over them to stare at the ocean below. Someone should probably ask her to come down before she falls in.

Not everyone is so calmly dealing with the fact that they are now on a ship and should relax, enjoy the view while they can.

Wolverine is not happy. With the number of times, the government has tried to fuck with him, he is not going to be happy anytime soon, and he is rushing down the dock stopping just in front of Christine to growl as he looks over the edge of it. There's nothing but water all around, and the door doesn't open, and Wolverine doesn't appreciate being kidnapped.

THIS IS NOT OKAY.

The answers he got from the weird holograms he couldn't slice open because they weren't real are not answers that he enjoys. He turns suddenly toward her, and he is all muscle and just controlled animal instinct.

"Let me guess, you came through the big, stupid door too."

Jason Dilaurentis winces from where he is standing. The first time that he fell through, he did that over and over again. The first time he fell through, he also thought that he had been on a really bad trip, but now he's here a second time after he's been long since sober... and well. This place is either real or he is just someone that hallucinates randomly. He can't really figure which idea is more appealing to him.

"It won't open," he offers from where he is standing, leaning against the wall with his hands slid into the pockets of the jacket that he is wearing. It's warm, hot even here, but he hasn't taken the jacket off yet as if he's afraid to lose it. "If it's locked, I mean, it'll only open up when it wants to, and it probably won't be any time soon either."

Martha freezes at the sound of a voice and turns her head, still looking a little wide-eyed. She doesn't really process what the young man says, because it's a door and it should open. Or maybe this is all some weird dream, some kind of stress-related dream. It's entire possible. What part of working for House isn't stressful?

"But.. it's a door." Martha tries lamely, her hand still raised to knock on it some more. "So.. where's the key?" It's a door, someone must have a key for it, right?

There's a long pause, she stares at the man a little awkwardly. "I... gotta get to work."

"Yeah, I know. It doesn't make any sense. The last time I was here, I thought it was--" uh... "A hallucination, but I don't think that happens twice." Also, he isn't exactly high now so that wouldn't explain it at all, right? He's not really sure, but he steps up to the door, shaking his head as he stares at it.

From what he's learned, opening up the door instead of her means that it'll open up to his universe, which wouldn't help her get to work. His universe kind of sucks anyway.

"This whole place is like something that doesn't make any sense. You gotta kind of roll with it. If it helps, last time, it spit me out to the same moment I left."

At least, as kidnappings to other worlds go, these he doesn't mind so much.

It's maybe his fourth time waking up in the now-familiar stateroom. He'd exhausted himself trying to get back the first time; by now he knows better. A vacation's a vacation, no matter how haphazard and enforced.

He dresses leisurely, lighting a cigarette as he heads for the door. It's still dangling from the corner of his mouth as he leaves his room, closing the door behind himself.

He still hasn't worked out why this keeps happening, or how. May as well have a drink and enjoy himself, see what this visit has to offer.

Look out below--someone's heaving over one of the railings.

Rachel's not sure if she's actually green. She feels green; it seems that if there were ever a state of being that was actually green, it would be the godawful way she feels right now. Seasickness is a bitch, doubly so when you weren't expecting it.

But then, you'd have to expect to be on a ship to foresee getting seasick, and an ocean voyage wasn't on her agenda for the day. She can't go back, the door won't let her back through. So instead it's a white-knuckled grip on the rail and a deep breath in, eyes squeezed shut, and a prayer she won't see more of her breakfast come up again just yet.

It comes with the territory of being a good hands-on medical professional: you start knowing how to read people. Especially when they're wound up, wound tight, just barely restraining themselves from action.

"That's right," Christine says, slowly getting to her feet. She holds her hands just slightly out from her sides to show she's unarmed. "I just showed up here against my will and I can't get back."

Bonnie has been on the cruise ship for awhile already. It's hard to keep track of time, but she is actually okay with this. Apparently, they go back to the same exact moment that they left, and she left wondering if she would regret helping to save Damon Salvatore's life if it can even be called that. It's still a question that she is struggling to answer so she's fine with being stuck on a cruise ship. Maybe she is having a really involved dream. Maybe this is some weird magic that she's yet to learn about.

It's the voice that she recognizes when she hasn't recognized anyone she's run into the whole time. She turns back, staring uncertainly.

"...Caroline? Is that you?"

Ethan thought the first time he ended up on the cruise ship that it was clearly a sign that he'd fallen into one of those rabbit holes that people were talking about in Chicago, a rift thing. Except now he is far away from Chicago which was destroyed, he's somehow ended up on the very same creepy, ghost cruise ship, he really doesn't understand anymore where he is or why.

He winces sympathetically when he sees the woman gripping to the railing like that. The first time he was on this ship, he was not a big fan of the being on a ship in the middle of the sea feeling. "I'd ask if you were okay, but that seems like an incredibly stupid question to ask so instead I'll ask, can I get you anything?"

Logan takes in and lets out a long, slow breath when he sees the way she is reacting to him. This is not the time to start coming off threatening toward unarmed women, but he doesn't like being on a ship against his will. He doesn't like not having the ground under his feet being without trees or forest nearby. The endless water unsettles him.

"...great. Kidnapping by cruise ship," he says and then grips hold of the railing. There's water, water everywhere, and not a drop of sense to it all. "Anything like this ever happen to you before?"

Bonnie Bennett has been dead a long time. Unlike canon, which is rude, Bonnie lived a long happy life and had kids and grandkids and passed on the magicness that made the Bennetts awesome to the next generation. Her death wasn't painful or tragic or a plot device. It was a good death.

Still, it's been a long time since Caroline has seen Bonnie. A long, long time where she's missed her a lot, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't recognize that voice in the space of heartbeat, her undead heart skipping a beat in shock. She spins on her heels, staring at the image in front of her, and all at once, it's almost too much to take.

"Bonnie?" The breath she doesn't need catches in her throat, and she takes a stumbling step forward towards her. "Oh my God, Bonnie?!"

Bonnie doesn't understand Caroline's reaction. She just saw her after all, but given this is a cruise ship that she was magically transported to, she guesses she can't make any assumptions about this place. Maybe it really is a very weird dream for all she knows. She's going to go with that for right now as she walks over to Caroline too, wrapping her arms around her because she seems like she could use it. And if this is all really real, she could kinda use it too.

"Hey, it is actually you... or a dream version of you. Didn't expect to see anyone I knew on the creepy boat to nowhere, but it's really good to see you. You okay?"

Then Bonnie is hugging her and Caroline doesn't know what her emotions are doing. It's bad enough that she's a vampire and what for most people is a five for her is an eleven, a reunion with a long lost best friend is enough to bump her up to twenty.

She hugs Bonnie on instinct, pulling her tighter against her, unable to tell if she's real or not. There's a part of her brain that's still telling her it can't be, but she's seen stranger things happen. "What?" she blinks, startled out of her thoughts by the question and a wide smile crosses her face. "Yeah. I'm great. I'm awesome."

Christine understands it's not her specifically this man objects to or feels threatened by. But when people are upset by unexpected events, they can react in all kinds of crazy ways.

But he grips the rail rather than make any move toward her. She relaxes too, shaking her head. "Never. One moment I was on the ship--not this one, the one I serve on--and then I was here. I don't know what even happened to me, or how I got here."

Logan's way of reacting tends to involve claws so he really can't blame anyone for being wary of the likes of him. It's probably for the best for them. There's a reason he has been separating himself from the rest of civilization (many reasons).

He looks over his shoulder at her, and he narrows his gaze. Not much to go on there. Doesn't sound like they were in the same place so how does something kidnap the both of them from completely different places. "I was in... a forest in Canada," he says in a low voice, and then he notices the uniform, which doesn't really look like something a sailor would wear. "You serve on a ship like this one or somethin' else?"

When Ethan sees she needs to cling to the rail to keep from toppling, he moves forward, reaching an arm-- er-- he stands near for now, arm poised around her in case she loses her grip.

"I don't want to touch you if you don't want to be touched, but I can help you get to a place where you're sitting if you want. I really don't want you to topple over the side," he says, and she does sound really, really miserable. Maybe there's a medical room here somewhere, not that he'd know where it is. "Not a fun thing to find out for the first time when you're forced on a ship with no apparent way off."

And no idea where pills might be to help with the sea sickness.

Bonnie hugs her as tightly as she can. She doesn't know why they're here, but if this is Caroline's reaction at seeing her, Bonnie is really happy to be here with her. She smiles at her though there is concern still in her eyes as they pull back enough to look at each other.

"Really? We've been kidnapped by some weird cruise ship, and you're awesome?" She smiles though, because she really is starting to think this is a dream. "You look seriously hot by the way."

Peter Parker blinks from where he is standing on the ship. He never did end up being able to go through the door (at least not yet) so he eventually changed out of the Spider-man suit and now-- now there is someone who is leaning over the railing with wings.

He opens his mouth to ask about the wings because the scientist in him is like are those real?, and the hero in him is like don't fall, please. "Uh, hey, you might want to take a step back from there. It's not safe unless the wings mean you can fly but they don't really look proportionate... to... allow actual flight. Maybe soaring but nothing really... beyond that, uh, so if you could... come back to this side..."
