but they have learned so terribly that sometimes no matter how hard they fight for each other, there are some things that they can't stop from happening. there are choices they aren't given. they're not allowed to be there for whatever reason, and even if elena had been there, she couldn't have stopped it. it's not her fault. it's not. if bonnie knew the situation, she'd know getting a favor from an agent is smart. it means it's something she could use later to give them an advantage. bonnie would have encouraged her to go and get that advantage for them.]
