On the evening of the twenty-ninth, the ballroom on the main deck of the boat is decked out in lavish black and gold, thanks to Carol and Sophie, and the assistance of the very strong men they enlisted to help (thank you, boys). It's been a while since Carol has thrown a full out ball, and she liked the chance to stretch her event planning limbs again, even if those attending are mostly the ghost robots in their cater waiter wear.

A soft music is playing over the guests as they enter. As they pass through the threshold, there's a table with simple masks for them to choose from, in case they've forgotten their's. Once they pass through the main archway, they'll find their way to the large dance space where the ghost robot band is sitting, because live music is so much better than a recording, and they actually don't sound half-bad, all things considered. They also take requests, so feel free to tell them that song where you always wondered what it would sound like with a full orchestral backing. There's a large, expansive dance floor in the middle, and you're welcome to get out there and shake your groove thing whenever you see fit.

Tables with food line the far left wall of the room, as well as clusters of tables for the guests to sit when they so choose. There's also an open bar nestled into the far corner, for all your alcoholic needs. There are also plenty of dark corners to slip into, if you don't want anyone to see what you're doing, however the narration suggests watching those dark corners carefully. Rabbit holes lurk in pretty much every shadowed area of the ballroom and while they won't always drop you into a strange location of your choosing, there's a high chance they will. There's probably a high turnover of people arriving back in the ballroom, looking like they've gone five rounds with a bull.

Probably because they have.

The boat seem to want to promote this event as much as possible. While not everyone loves a good ball, some non-attenders may suddenly find themselves in attendance, completely dressed and no idea of how they got there. Trying to leave? Might not go so well either. For some, socializing isn't so much a choice as a punishment, but there are probably plenty of people to help you have a good time.

Or you could go on a trip to Narnia. One never really knows.

[ he grins down at her after pulling back some, recalling that fateful bus ride where she learned his name and he overheard luna talking. ]

[Usagi merely smiles at that.]

I wasn't thinking then.

[For a super hero the secret identity part of the gig has never been her strong point -- it's not in her nature to hide things from people most of the time.]

You've gotten better at that.

[ coming from anyone else that might sound condescending, but it was a full-fledged compliment coming from mamoru. she did learn to think, whether it was something she grew into or remembered how to do when she remembered who she used to be. ]

We may have to start thinking again soon.

[ his timing sucks, but his honesty is a constant. he knows better than to wait for a better time to speak up with the unexpected could strike at any moment. he'd rather her be ready to strike than be taken by surprise by it. whatever it is that has him feeling antsy and out sorts. ]

[Usagi lets out a small sigh at that. She's not surprised -- not really. She knows there's always something else out there, any peace they find is temporary. It was nice to think maybe things might be different here but she's not surprised to find out they aren't]

Why?

[He's clearly picked up on something she hasn't -- but he's always been intuned to things she can't see.]

[ he's been nothing but honest with her, sometimes unyielding in his truthfulness, so telling her as he's figuring these things out himself should come as no surprise to her. he may the prince, but she's still the princess. she's the daughter of queen serenity, the senshi of the moon. she's the leader, and mamoru is her only pair of eyes and ears while the other senshi are absent from this place. ]

Something's coming. It's not good.

[She appreciates the honestly -- banks on it really. She's never wavered in her trust of him because of that. She knows if he felt anything wrong he'd tell her -- just like Rei would if she were here and sensed something.]

Well, when they come we'll be ready for them.

[It's been nice, not having to be Sailor Moon, but if people are in danger she will absolutely take up the mantle again. There's no question in that.]

[ it's because of that possibility of taking up their superhero mantles again that mamoru has refrained from sharing his own psychic abilities with the other individuals on the ship who have been very open about their own abilities. admitting to his powers would be giving potential enemies clues to tuxedo kamen's identity that they're not meant to have. keeping that secret was essential to the other secrets he harbored. ]

It's still with you, right? [ the crystal. coming here didn't do anything to take it from her, right? surely she would've said something by now were that the case. ]

[She nods her head a little. She lifts the little purse she brought with her.]

I've been keeping it on me, just in case.

[She doesn't want to have to take up that mantle but it's good to be safe.]
