[ those ghost-robots have fished what appears to be a fresh corpse out of the water. where did this guy in a wwii military jacket come from? who knows. a door probably opened a little too close to the side of the ship at the least opportune moment knowing this ship's track record and the dead man in question's luck.
βor, perhaps, not so dead after all.
lifeless one moment, he's surging back to life the next. air rushes into his lungs with a powerful gasp and he sits up, turning and hunching over slightly so he can properly cough up the water that flooded his lungs out onto the deck. ]
Drowned. [ the laugh that mingles with the tail end of his coughing fit doesn't at all sound amused, but he doesn't seem all that bothered by any of this, either. ] Haven't done that one in a while. Gotta love the classics.
[ by the time he pushes himself to his feet, it's as if he did nothing more than take an impromptu swim. soaked to the bone, but breathing fine and showing no signs of having been lying dead on the deck mere minutes before. ]

oh good :3
he aged with an immeasurable slowness, so being stuck here wasn't really that big of a deal to him. but martha and donna? oh no, that was unacceptable. something would have to be done about that, and since the doctor wasn't here, that job was his. ]
D.C. might as well be.
[ washington, dc. torchwood more of a name these days, and what's left of the institute is affiliated with the cia. loosely. jack's still not 100% on board with the idea, be it through rex or not. ]
And what about you? Still keeping that Doctor of ours in line?

You bet your behind I am. [ she likes to think it's her calling. ] Though he hasn't shown up to ruin my vacation yet. Probably off gallivanting, forgetting he needs me around. You know him.
[ and jack probably knows donna, too. the way she casually brushes off the fact that she got stuck on a boat by treating it like a prize getaway. like she doesn't hunt for clues every day, checking out different parts of the ship with marked interest. she won't talk about getting stuck in that birthday room fiasco, or how this feels eerily similar to a certain library she'd visited before.
suffice it to say, she's got a lot of notes back at her room. ]
I'll give him his due when I catch sight of him though, you better believe it.
