[ota] i am a super srs rper

[hi, voyagers. there's a drunk!teleporter/telepathic/telekinetic near your pool. john young has literally never been drunk before but things happened back home and he got kicked out of the lair cause of stuff and drunkness happened, and he would like to be even more drunk tyvm.

hiiiiiii, pool. good pool.

he's basically a big, drunk puppy.]
believable: (you wanted love and expected what?)

[ drowning/near drowning/near-death experiences in general are not fun, john. in fact, they are the opposite of fun. they are so far away from being fun the fun police would never arrest them ever.

you can ask elena gilbert. -10/10 would not recommend.
]

Whoa there. [ elena spots the stranger and takes a step forward in case he takes another other step toward that pool as opposed to backing away from it. she hasn't figured out yet he's drunk, he just looks shaky on his legs, which isn't far-fetched considering where he's ended up and how. ] Are you okay?
believable: (i'm going to hell. or jail.)

[personal profile] believable 2014-07-26 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
[ ohhhh boy.

elena is already kneeling down close by, ready to spring into action if necessary.
] I have a feeling that's the last thing you need right now. [ she looks around to see if anyone else is around, but there isn't. there's her and there's john intent on staring at the pool. she does not want that in her conscience, please and thank you. ] Let's take a step back from the pool, shall we? [ she'll be trying to move him now. unsuccessfully. because if he's a big, drunk puppy she's just a determined but smaller ...whatever animal happens to be relevantly applicable ok. ]
believable: (face scrunch.)

[personal profile] believable 2014-07-26 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[ screams. insert a pathetically drenched kitty attempting to swim to the surface with flailing arms now. ]
believable: (what great teeth you have.)

[personal profile] believable 2014-07-26 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[ sputtering.

lots of sputtering. and no, bad puppy. bad puppy for not paying attention in the first place. that is exactly what her expression is conveying right now, btw. BAD, BAD PUPPY.
]

What are you doing?

[ she's just curious about his thought process rn. ]
believable: (if you're gonna be loud)

[personal profile] believable 2014-07-26 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[ elena eyes him curiously.

it's not that she's going to make assumptions, it's just - okay, she's going to make assumptions. he looks at least a little bit older than her, so the fact he's never been drunk before, while not implausible, makes her wonder about the reasons why.
]

If you really want to help me, you'll stay away from the pool's edge.

[ she says this very srsly, btw, john. as though you really could be a life saver here if you comply. gingerly, she slips a hand over his arm to try and help him up again. ] Do you ... even know where you are?
believable: (well then.)

[personal profile] believable 2014-07-27 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you really going to question the person you just threw into the pool?

[ elena, that's not exactly how it happened, but that doesn't seem to matter at the moment as she is oh-so-offended he'd doubt her word. and the confused puppy is in very good hands now. not that she has a whole lot of experience with dogs. thor wasn't all that fond of her and her orders, now that she thinks about it.

that might have more to do with the fact it was jeremy's dog, tho.

and she'll just be relieved he's been here before. explaining it in general is a doozy. explaining it in john's state? would likely be a comedy of errors.
] Does that mean you already have a cabin?
believable: (this is for a day a long time from now.)

[personal profile] believable 2014-07-27 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[ elena is just going to neatly side-step that question, allowing him to wonder.

did you, john? did you really? and then tomorrow, or whenever he's sobered up, she'll tell the truth. it was a mutual effort, after all. if she hadn't been so stubborn in her determination to move him as opposed to being realistic about his weight versus her own, maybe they both wouldn't have gone tumbling down into the pool.

we'll never know.

and oof, elena will slip an arm around his waist to keep him upright and balanced, already moving him toward the stairs that lead to the cabins.
] That's okay, we'll find it. I'm assuming it has your name. [ there's a silence that follows. ] What is your name?

[ bee-tee-dubs. ]

[Zoe knows a couple things about drunk people, and one of those things is that they probably shouldn't be near the pool. Impaired judgment + something that could kill you = bad, bad things. Add to the fact that she likes John, and doesn't quite realize that he's drunk yet, but him just standing by the pool fully dressed is a liiiiiiiittle weird.

She takes a few steps closer and frowns.]

John?
believable: (forget your perfect offering.)

[personal profile] believable 2014-07-28 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
[ oh, john. she is just not the kind of person that would walk the other way. even in situations where she should, and this doesn't happen to be one of them. ]

John.

[ it's said gently as she continues to steer him up the stairs. he is heavy, but he is also cooperating with her, so it's not hard to maneuver him so as long as he doesn't fight her on it. ]

I'm Elena, and we're going to get you some water, okay? [ water to drink, not water to swim in, thank you very much. ]

Oh dear.

[ this seventeen-year-old looks like she just stepped out of a board meeting, pausing in her trek around this deck of the ship when she spots the drunken man. she's been to enough formal gatherings to be able to spot a drunk man when she sees one, and it's the proximity of the pool that has her moving towards him instead of a way from him. (somewhere, through the red door in whence she came, her security detail is screaming in protest.) ]

Excuse me, sir, are you alright? I wouldn't advise standing that close to the pool.

[ it's okay, john, relena's used to being the responsible teenager in a room full of adults. not that he's irresponsible so much as inebriated, and therefore inhibited. ]

That's probably not a good idea. [ she advises, waving a hand wards one of the changing areas. ] I'm sure there's a sink inside one of those. Why not make use of that instead?
peacecraft: (Default)

[personal profile] peacecraft 2014-07-30 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
[ relena really can't fault someone for drinking. she doesn't do it herself, but she's certainly felt the urge. and there a moments when she does when she finds herself laughing, because she's a government official — a diplomat with political power at seventeen, but still too young to drink legally. she can run a country, but she can't raise a glass that's not filled with anything stronger than sparkling cider. ]

It's a pool. A pool you could very well drown in in the state you're in. [ against her better judgement, relena holds out a hand towards him, plucking the air with her fingers. ] Come, let's find you a sink you can't drown in.
believable: (cute.)

[ there is a lot of water here in this thread, it's true. elena is a pro at this kind of thing now. maybe that's why she ended up meeting the god of the sea himself. the universe probably got a kick out of that one for its sheer irony alone.

basically:

so dripping, much wetness.
]

To drink. [ the correction comes wryly and with the slightest shake of her head. the clothes do stick to her frame, but she tries to ignore that as she maneuvers them toward what she hopes are the kitchens. ] Hi, John. [ you really are a giant, drunk puppy, aren't you? ]
