[hi, voyagers. there's a drunk!teleporter/telepathic/telekinetic near your pool. john young has literally never been drunk before but things happened back home and he got kicked out of the lair cause of stuff and drunkness happened, and he would like to be even more drunk tyvm.
hiiiiiii, pool. good pool.
he's basically a big, drunk puppy.]

you can ask elena gilbert. -10/10 would not recommend. ]
Whoa there. [ elena spots the stranger and takes a step forward in case he takes another other step toward that pool as opposed to backing away from it. she hasn't figured out yet he's drunk, he just looks shaky on his legs, which isn't far-fetched considering where he's ended up and how. ] Are you okay?
no subject
he kneels down at the edge of the pool with his hands against the edges of the pool, gripping hold. he looks up and back at her like the sad, drunk, lost puppy that he is.] A drink?
no subject
elena is already kneeling down close by, ready to spring into action if necessary. ] I have a feeling that's the last thing you need right now. [ she looks around to see if anyone else is around, but there isn't. there's her and there's john intent on staring at the pool. she does not want that in her conscience, please and thank you. ] Let's take a step back from the pool, shall we? [ she'll be trying to move him now. unsuccessfully. because if he's a big, drunk puppy she's just a determined but smaller ...whatever animal happens to be relevantly applicable ok. ]

and john leans forward suddenly and dunks his head into the pool... or tries too, but he is already sitting so far forward on the edge that he takes a full body tumble directly into the water, taking the determined kitten down w/ him. sorry about that, kitty.]

kittylady in with him and-- he reaches for her and lifts her up to the surface of the water tooSEE? HE IS HELPING. HE IS A GOOD PUPPY.]
no subject
lots of sputtering. and no, bad puppy. bad puppy for not paying attention in the first place. that is exactly what her expression is conveying right now, btw. BAD, BAD PUPPY. ]
What are you doing?
[ she's just curious about his thought process rn. ]
no subject
kitty looks unhappy w/ him. no no no. john keeps a hold on her to keep her up like she needs help w/ that or something, and he just ducks his head in SHAME. IN SHAME.]
...helping?
[it's asked as a question because HE THOUGHT HE DID GOOD. /tail between legs.] I've... never been drunk before.
no subject
it's not that she's going to make assumptions, it's just - okay, she's going to make assumptions. he looks at least a little bit older than her, so the fact he's never been drunk before, while not implausible, makes her wonder about the reasons why. ]
If you really want to help me, you'll stay away from the pool's edge.
[ she says this very srsly, btw, john. as though you really could be a life saver here if you comply. gingerly, she slips a hand over his arm to try and help him up again. ] Do you ... even know where you are?

She takes a few steps closer and frowns.]
John?
no subject
He closes his eyes as he sways slightly nearly trips, turning slowly at the sound of her voice with a wince. He would not really want Zoe to see him like this, and the drunk!puppy is sad about this. ;o;]
Yeah, Zoe.
Hi.
no subject
Hi.
[She takes a few steps closer and tries not to make a face at the smell of the alcohol coming off him, before placing her hands on his shoulders gently.]
Maybe you should sit down.
no subject
he doesn't doubt anymore that jedikiah would be more than willing to kill him. maybe he knows he deserves that too.
still he hadn't been thinking straight. the weight and responsibility of the things that he has done and the reasons why an entire group of people that he cares about is lost is because-- he did it, and he needs to fix it if it's the last thing he does.]
Yeah, I think... I should. [his voice is quiet, half shamed as her hands rest against his shoulders.] Sorry. I've never been drunk before.
no subject
Well, lucky you - I'm very good at taking care of drunk people.
[She leads him gently over to one of the lounge chairs and gets him to sit.]
I'm gonna get you some water. Just stay here, okay?
no subject
There weren't any answers in those bottles. He didn't actually think there would be. He sinks down on to the lounge chair heavily, leaning back as he swallows.
He winces at what she says, looking up at her as he breathes in sharply.]
Okay, thank you. [He winces, shakes his head at himself. He'll ask when she comes back why-- why she's really good at taking care of drunk people.]
no subject
Here. Drink. It'll help you not have a hangover. Keep you hydrated.
no subject
This ship has some... terrible timing. [It's said quietly as he slides a hand over his face.] I wasn't intending on ending up here while I was drunk.
[John wasn't really intending on anything at all though which was part of the problem.]

[ this seventeen-year-old looks like she just stepped out of a board meeting, pausing in her trek around this deck of the ship when she spots the drunken man. she's been to enough formal gatherings to be able to spot a drunk man when she sees one, and it's the proximity of the pool that has her moving towards him instead of a way from him. (somewhere, through the red door in whence she came, her security detail is screaming in protest.) ]
Excuse me, sir, are you alright? I wouldn't advise standing that close to the pool.
no subject
I'm okay.
[he gestures towards the pool a bit vaguely as he scratches the back of his neck.] I was... just gonna stick my head in.
[it seemed like a really good idea at the time.]
no subject
That's probably not a good idea. [ she advises, waving a hand wards one of the changing areas. ] I'm sure there's a sink inside one of those. Why not make use of that instead?
no subject
maybe he still would have been drinking. it's been one of the hardest days, and there's not the responsibility of about fifteen people weighing on him immediately for once cause he was kicked out and away from them.] ...oh, because this is a really big sink. Too big.
[a pool, john.]
no subject
It's a pool. A pool you could very well drown in in the state you're in. [ against her better judgement, relena holds out a hand towards him, plucking the air with her fingers. ] Come, let's find you a sink you can't drown in.
no subject
he frowns at what she says.] ...drowning would be bad. [this is his very profound statement for the day before he turns toward her and that hand, reaching to grab hold and following where she tugs basically. the drunk puppy is now following. john young has always been very good at following. his voice is soft when he speaks again, half as explanation, half as an apology.] I've never been drunk before.
no subject
Oh? And here I was thinking you were an expert. [ she's teasing and leading him towards one of the changing rooms. ] Here, I'll wait outside. There should be a sink in there.
no subject
if anyone deserves a drink, it'd be her.
he smirks softly at what she says.] Glad to know my inexperience wasn't shining through. [his smirk widens a bit before he nods and then... heads inside of the changing room. there's the sound of fumbling, stumbling a bit before there's the sound of water running
and john sticks his head into the water because it seems like a good idea so when he comes out again, his head is completely wet but he seems to be thinking at least a little clearer. maybe.] I'm... John Young by the way. Bad, first impression, I know.
