[party post] come sail away with me

You've come through a door, and you are on a boat. Specifically, you're on a cruise ship in the middle of some giant body of water. You've come through the door behind you which is attached to nothing and may now be locked. It's relatively empty as giant as it appears to be. The only other passengers that are here appear to also have come through the door for the most part and it is not nearly enough to fill up this entire cruise ship.

Also, who knows who the hell is driving this thing since all of the employees appear to be either ghosts or holograms...

Is this your first time here or your hundredth time here? Do you want a drink or a dip in the pool? Is it day or night? Do you stumble on your room or some other situation either fun or painful within its many rooms, shops, and facilities? Do you run into someone you know or a complete stranger?

The possibilities are unlimited!

They probably do. Audrey can't help but side eye that particular comment about keeping the suit clean, because why, but she lets it go for now. There are more pressing matters at hand - at least as far as she is concerned.

"Do you happen to know where I might find a change of clothes? Or a washing machine?" Or possibly both, in that order?

Spider-man lifts his hand up, giving her a salute. "I think I can help you with both of those things... since the door still seems to be locked for me," he says, and while there's a mask, the tone of his voice clearly points out the frown in the tone of it.

"This way."

Audrey doesn't hesitate and follows, still unsure if this is real, her own subconscious having a psychotic break, or the Barn is messing with her. But if she's going to figure out which is which, she's going to just go with it.

"The door?"

Peter can't blame anyone who sees a person in spandex walking around in the middle of a cruise ship in the middle of nowhere... for thinking that nothing about what they're seeing is real. He'd probably be taken more seriously in his real clothes even if those clothes are torn up jeans and hoodies.

"The one and only. Everyone comes through it and leaves through it. It locks and unlocks itself at random. Crafty that way."

Audrey nods slowly as she processes that information, one hand rubbing the back of her head for a moment. Her hand comes back with pie filling. She really needs to get changed.

"So everyone comes in through the one door, why doesn't someone just ... watch and jump through when it's open?"

"I did that once! And I... ended up in the universe that person who opened the door came from," Peter answers, tilting his head to the side. "It was awkward. Some type of world where spandex wasn't a thing and big burly guys with clubs were."

Not his shiniest moment. ...why does he never talk about his shiny, heroic moments? Ever?

Audrey cringes a bit at that. Okay. Trying other people's doors is bad. Got it. She continues walking, looking over everything for a moment as she tries to formulate her next question. "So you just ... wait until your door reopens, even if you have no idea when that will be?"

"...basically. I have been waiting for awhile, and spandex is a huge pain to wear all the time, but I don't want to miss the chance to go back or have it pull me through unsuspecting. That happens too. Sometimes you just... get pulled through the door without warning. Back to your world," Peter says, and he's done both things before. He's walked back out to the moment and place that he left, and he's been... dragged back when he didn't want to go.

Audrey nods as she continues to consider all of this, and she glances around for a moment before turning back to him. "This is all kind of insane, you realize that right? And I come from a place where insanity is a really relative term."

"Wha-a-a-at? You're sure this doesn't happen all the time everywhere?" Peter asks with his head tilted slightly toward her to show he is being his snarky spidey self. "...so what place do you come from? I come from a place with giant lizards. And well, me."

"Haven," she replies with a slow nod. "It's this small town in Maine. They ... have a lot of Troubles."

Peter probably can't hear the capital "T" attached to that word, but trust her. It's there. The trouble with Troubles is that they seem to take on a life if their own all the same.

"What kind of... Troubles?" Peter takes that pause before he says the word, because he does hear the capital T to it that isn't usually there when people are talking about trouble, nonspecific trouble.

So he gets the feeling this trouble is very, very specific.

"Oh, you know. The usual. Unemployment, family drama. Unrequited love." And occasionally those things manifest into town wrecking, people killing phenomena. But really, they're mostly rooted in emotional problems which makes them relatively easy to explain. "They just ... take it harder than most."
