[party post] come sail away with me

You've come through a door, and you are on a boat. Specifically, you're on a cruise ship in the middle of some giant body of water. You've come through the door behind you which is attached to nothing and may now be locked. It's relatively empty as giant as it appears to be. The only other passengers that are here appear to also have come through the door for the most part and it is not nearly enough to fill up this entire cruise ship.
Also, who knows who the hell is driving this thing since all of the employees appear to be either ghosts or holograms...
Is this your first time here or your hundredth time here? Do you want a drink or a dip in the pool? Is it day or night? Do you stumble on your room or some other situation either fun or painful within its many rooms, shops, and facilities? Do you run into someone you know or a complete stranger?
The possibilities are unlimited!

She seems alright, and her disposition is not what he would've expected from looking at the state of her, but that goes and shows him he shouldn't be judging a book by its cover. Even when the cover is bloody and slightly alarming. A tiny smirk tugs at his lips at that undertone of silly.
He has no idea what a Walker is, but Rafe would rather answer her questions first, if only to put her at ease. ... Well, as best he can. It's not as though he knows much about this place. "We're in a cruise ship. It's apparently got magical properties. It pulls people in by that door over there," he says, pointing toward it. "And no one really seems to know why. It's a mystery that way."
Which is both fascinating and kind of disconcerting.

"Well, that's rude," she says to the door, making a face at it even if... if she is really glad to not be where she was at the moment, but she had a LOT OF ANGER and it would have been nice to express that to the people who locked her in the shed. Then she turns back to look up at him. "I didn't think magic was real."
...but this place doesn't make any sense in any other way (she stopped believing in magic years ago, but what else does something like this?), and she can't see a Walker anywhere. It all looks like it's been untouched, like it is new. She doesn't get it. Is she dreaming?

"It is very rude," he answers to her in complete agreement. She's older than his nephew David, but still young enough that he doesn't feel completely out of his element. Rafe blows out a breath and considers the rest of her statement. "Well, it might not be where you're from," Rafe allows after a moment of pause. "There's a lot of worlds within universes, and the one each of us lives in is only one of many. They're not all necessarily the same, but here, magic is definitely real. And sometimes it's dangerous, so it's important to be careful."
He doesn't know what's on the other side of the rest of the doors, or on the ship itself, and there is no real way of knowing unless something happens. Preparing for that is the tricky part. You can't really prepare for the unknown.

She is still folding her arms across her chest a bit as she looks at the door, and then she turns around again, tilting her head to look up at him. "Oh," she says, and this is all strange to her. There is something about universes, and there are places where magic exists and places where Walkers exist. "That sucks. Who decides who gets the magic and who gets the Walkers?"
Cause she'd like to have a word or two or like a hundred with them!!!!
"But also it is kinda cool." Cause magic.

His sister is a witch, and so are many of the women in his family. He have seen first hand how wonderful -- and absolutely terrifying -- magic can be in their hands. He has a healthy respect for it, but he is also aware magic comes in many shapes and sizes. Rafe wants to ask her how she got hurt, who Walkers are, and where she comes from, but he thinks that first things first.
"You wanna get cleaned up a bit before we explore the ship? There's a room close to the pool on the other side that's got a bathroom. I can stay here waiting for you."
'Cause otherwise it's creepy and Rafe is no creep, okay.

Clementine asks this while folding her arms across her chest, lifting her head up to look at him. He sounds like he is talking from experience, and if he is, she wants in on that, okay? Like no one should be leaving her out of the magic... information stuff.
She nods at the question.
"Okay! I'll be right back," she says, heading off to the room which is marked off nicely so she can wipe her face of zombie blood which is a thing she is very used to. She comes back out after a moment, adjusting her hat a bit. "Ready!"

There's no pointy hat and evil laughter, but there is a lot of magic. It's been in his life for as long as he can remember, even if he's never been able to do it himself. Part of him used to be disappointed in that, but he learned that magic does come with its own obligations and consequences.
He isn't sure if he would be strong enough to bear them.
Rafe gives her a bit of a salute, staying in place and leaning against one of the walls, giving Clementine time to clean herself up. Once she comes back, he makes sure that she's okay, and that really was someone else's blood, before he pushes himself off of the wall. "Awesome! Any place you wanna start with?"
no subject
Clementine is all interested now. Of course, she wouldn't believe it normally, but she did just appear on a ship in the middle of nowhere even though she'd been locked in a shed beforehand so her level of believing stuff is higher than normal.
Way higher.
She smiles at him when he comes back, lifting her head up to look way up at him. "Uh, I don't really know ships. I mean, I've never been on one before. Maybe the start of it? Where does the captain sit?" The captain would know stuff! Though she is kind of happy to like stay on the ship for a long time.
no subject
Rafe has a vague idea of where the captain sits, so he will be leading her to the start of it and they can work their way up from there. He stuffs his hands into his pockets, never once infringing on her personal space, but keeping close enough that if something happens, he'll be able to do something about it.
"Not the kind of magic you see in magician shows," he says after a moment. It takes him some time to answer, because he's never had to put it to words; he's only ever seen it. "She can control the elements. You know, fire, water, wind. She can cast spells, so she has a book of them she calls a grimoire."
His mother has one, too.

Mostly in letting people underestimate her so she can take advantage of that. Oops. But she has learned how to survive because she had to, because she was taught some things and others she just picked up herself.
Clementine stares up at him with a rounded :o to her mouth as she listens to his description, looking a bit skeptical if only because that is something else that has served her well at the end of the world. "Really? So she can make things burn?"
That'd be useful for the walkers.
