[party post] come sail away with me

You've come through a door, and you are on a boat. Specifically, you're on a cruise ship in the middle of some giant body of water. You've come through the door behind you which is attached to nothing and may now be locked. It's relatively empty as giant as it appears to be. The only other passengers that are here appear to also have come through the door for the most part and it is not nearly enough to fill up this entire cruise ship.

Also, who knows who the hell is driving this thing since all of the employees appear to be either ghosts or holograms...

Is this your first time here or your hundredth time here? Do you want a drink or a dip in the pool? Is it day or night? Do you stumble on your room or some other situation either fun or painful within its many rooms, shops, and facilities? Do you run into someone you know or a complete stranger?

The possibilities are unlimited!

Kathryn's more than happy to take a look at the picture, frowning when she realizes that the David this woman had been calling for was a child. She didn't have any children of her own (and likely never would with the way her life was going), and couldn't possibly imagine what it was like to not know where your child was. That spike of anxiety and fear that went coursing through your being, a unique brand to the situation and the ties that bound those involved. It likely paled in comparison to the panic she felt when one of her crew went missing or comm lines went down between the ship and away teams.

Or being however far away she was from them now.

"I'm sorry, but I haven't seen him. David, is it? I'd be happy to help you look for him."

"Thank you," she says, the relief only barely contained as she forces herself to remain steady in place. Panicking isn't going to help the situation, and Natalia isn't one that is easily given to hysterics, but this? This would do it, if nothing else, and she looks like someone that is moments away from having a meltdown. She never truly understood what love was until she had David, despite the fact she was very young when she did so. She also never understood the extent to which you will do anything to keep someone safe until she had him, either. There is nothing -- and no one -- she won't face if it means protecting him.

"One minute I'm walking him to school and the next we're here." Natalia is already picking up her pace one again, moving in the opposite direction she had been. The ship seems endless in its space, but she will uncover every last damn inch of it if she has to.

"Do you have any idea where 'here' is?"

Kathryn doesn't do meltdowns or hysterics. She doesn't have the luxury of succumbing to those baser urges. Crumbling in front of her crew would worsen a situation she's worked hard to better or them all. They count on her to be this strong, immovable pillar of strength and resourcefulness — and she is, but there are times... She's only human, and isn't as Vulcan as her green-blooded confidant and oldest friend. There are times when various situations get to her, but she only allows herself to feel their weight when doors are shut tightly around her and nobody can watch their captain fall apart.

She'd do anything to ensure the well being and safety of her crew. She made a deal with the Borg in attempt to trim a few decades off their journey, for Cochrane's sake! Doing everything and anything for someone is something she understands well.

"Unfortunately, no. From what I can tell, this is some sort of middle ground for a variety of times and dimensions."

That isn't very comforting, she realizes, but Kathryn has no reason to lie to this woman and would appreciate honest answers were she in her place.
